Indian Raisins from the Nashik Belt
The same Thompson Seedless grapes we ship fresh are what India’s raisins are made from, dried on racks in the Nashik and Sangli belt. We supply golden, green and black raisins, graded by colour and size, in bulk cartons or retail packs.

Raisins
India’s raisin industry sits in the same districts as its grape industry, for the obvious reason — Nashik and neighbouring Sangli grow the Thompson Seedless that dries best, and the dry air after harvest does the rest. Grapes are dipped, racked and dried in shade over two to three weeks, then cleaned, stemmed and graded.
Colour is what separates the types. Golden raisins are treated with sulphur before drying, which holds a light amber colour and a softer texture. Green raisins are shade dried without it and finish paler and firmer. Black raisins are sun dried, darker and sweeter. None of them are different grapes; the difference is in how they are dried.
Within each type, raisins are graded by berry size and colour uniformity, and the grade decides the price. Tell us the type, grade and pack size you need and we’ll quote. If you want the fresh fruit as well, we ship that in season — see our grapes page.

Packing And Delivery
Raisins are packed into cartons with a food-grade liner, or into retail pouches where shelf-ready stock is wanted, and palletised for ordinary dry containers. Heat is the enemy here — raisins stored warm go sticky and sugar crystals form on the surface — so consignments are kept out of direct sun during loading and should be held below 20 °C where your climate allows. Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and phytosanitary certificate go with every shipment, along with a batch analysis report where your buyer requires one.
